What is Bench & Blocks?
The Bench in LabNote is like a large canvas where you can write experiment notes.
Blocks are elements that contain different contents in the experiments that you can place on a Bench.
Procedures in Bench
A Procedure is like a link that enables you to load Blocks to a Bench. Also, the Procedure helps you to record the experiment in order.
Three types of Blocks: Process, Material, Set
Process blocks
- Process blocks describe actions in experiments like stirring or heating. For the frequently used Processes, you can save and load them from the LabNote database right away.
Material blocks
- Material blocks are any materials used in your experiment. Currently, LabNote provides five types of Material blocks: Chemicals, Nucleic acids, Animals, Organisms, and Cell lines. LabNote will continuously add new types of Material blocks.
Set blocks
- Set blocks can be used as one Material block. It can be regarded as an output of a process or procedure within a single experiment.
