All LabNote users can create individual Projects and Folders, Notes, and files within Projects. However, depending on their LabSpaces and Projects invitations, users may have different access permissions in the following three areas:
- Access permissions in LabSpace
- Access permissions in Project
- Access permissions in LabNote
Access permissions in LabSpace
LabSpace provides three roles:
- Owner: The owner is the one who initially created the LabSpace and has all the access permissions. There is only one owner in a LabSpace.
- Manager: Managers can invite members to the LabSpace or change the access permissions of members. There can be more than one manager in a Labspace.
- Researcher: Researchers are general members of LabSpace. Researchers can create their own projects, Folders, notes, or files.
Access permissions in Project
Even in the same LabSpace, members can only participate in the Projects to which they are invited.
- Owner, Manager: Owners and Managers can assign other members as managers or researchers in the shared projects.
- Researcher: Researchers are general members of LabSpace. Researchers can create their own projects, Folders, notes, or files.
Access permissions in LabNote
When initially created, LabNote's notes are only accessible to the creator. Even in the same projects, members can only see the notes with which they are shared. Therefore, your notes and files cannot be shared with other members for security purposes, and you should deliberately share them with other members.
- Creator: Creators are the ones that created the LabNote. Creators can write, edit, or delete LabNotes.
- Shared Member: Shared Members are the ones who received shared LabNotes. Shared Members cannot edit the notes, but view shared notes.
Files are only available to shared members, just like LabNotes. However, folders are available for other members to view without intentional share.
