What is a LabNote Template
You can use a Template function to save your previously written experiment notes. And then, when you write a new LabNote of similar experiments later, you can simply leverage this Template.
Save Template
You can select all or partial information to save them as your Template.
- In LabNote, first, click
Template
button in the top right corner and then clickSave as Template
to open the saving Template modal. - Select the checkbox of Procedure, Process, or Set/Material blocks created in the current LabNote that you want to save as a Template. Then, click
Save
. - The rules of checkbox are the following:
- When certain Material & Set blocks are unchecked, they will not be part of the Template.
- Within the hierarchy of Procedure, Process, Material/ Set blocks, when the parent entity is unchecked, all the child entities are unchecked, and when all the child entities are checked, the parent is checked.
- If you wish to selectively check the child entities, first uncheck the parent entity and then select the wanted child entities.
- Each Procedure can be Folded & UnFolded.
- When creating Templates, you can include both/or Main experiments and Sub-experiments.
- You can check the saved Templates in the
Open Template
.
Open & Delete Template
You can open previously saved Templates to leverage your LabNote creation process.
- In LabNote, first, click
Template
button in the top right corner and then clickOpen Template
to open the saving Template modal. Template list
is in the order of the recent view.- Search for the wanted Template when there are too many Templates in the list.
- Click
Template item
to see the preview of the Template. - In the preview, you can check the Procedure, Process, & Material/Set blocks in both the Main experiment and Sub-experiment.
- Once you find the wanted Template, click
Open Template
to open the pre-written notes.
- Note that if you open the Template, the existing contents in the current LabNote are deleted. - To delete a Template, mouse-hover over to the Template in the
Open Template list
, and click the Trash icon. Deleted Templates cannot be recovered.
